Bir Billing is also known as ‘Paragliding capital of India’
Bir is a small town located in the state of Himachal Pradesh in northern India. Bir Billing is a popular destination for adventures sports such as paragliding, treks and also as the town for meditation.Bir being a hill station has a cold climate throughout the year.Trekking to Himachali tribal villages, Mountain Biking, Angling and Camping.
Bir Billing is located 70 km. from Dharamshala. Billing is situated north of Bir at the distance of 14 km. on the way to the Thamsar Pass trek, which is leading to Bada Bhangal, tribal region of Himachal Pradesh. Bir is mainly a Buddhist town and houses a monastery.

Best Time to Visit Bir Billing:

Summers (March to June)
The weather in summers is pleasant. The temperatures remain moderate. This is the best time for sightseeing.

Monsoons (July and Sep)
The monsoons witness light rainfall.Tourist faces problem during paragliding during monsoons.

Winters (Oct to Feb).
The winters are extremely cold. This often disrupts the transport facility to the destination. Trekking is also hampered.

How to reach Bir Billing:

By Air:
No Direct air service to Bir Billing.Gaggal Airport which is also known as Kangra airport(68 Km).

By Rail:
There is no direct rail connectivity to Bir. The nearest station is gauge station is in Pathankot, which is 112.4 km. away from Bir. Kangra Valley Railway runs a toy train every morning which will get you to Ahju just 3km from Bir. The train covers the 140 kms in about 7 hours.

By Road:
Bir Billing is very well connected by road to all the important towns of Himachal Pradesh including Dalhousie, Shimla etc.
